About NW BOCES
NW BOCES Educational and Treatment Facility
Learn & Grow
NW BOCES has proudly served Wyoming students and school districts since 1970. Originally established to support 18 member districts, our program has continually adapted to meet the evolving needs of children and families across the state. Today, we provide specialized educational and treatment services for students in grades K-8 experiencing severe emotional and behavioral challenges.
Our comprehensive school and treatment program combines academics with therapeutic support. Certified teachers, a structured level system, positive reinforcement techniques, and a token economy help foster both behavioral improvement and academic achievement. We offer both day and residential programs, and all students benefit from individualized education plans (IEPs) designed to support their unique strengths and goals.
Placement at NW BOCES is coordinated through school districts or the Department of Family Services (CHINS), making us a vital partner in Wyoming’s educational and social services landscape. As a fee-for-service facility, we are committed to working hand-in-hand with families and referring agencies to build brighter futures for youth in need.
Our governance is provided by an 18-member board, each member appointed by their local school district board. This collaborative approach ensures that we remain responsive to the communities we serve and continually strive for excellence in both educational and behavioral outcomes.
